Force Multiplier Virtual House Party
June 18, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This is not a fundraiser. Come hear about what Force Multiplier is doing and what you can do to flip our government blue.
Force Multiplier is a Massachusetts-based, grassroots fundraising organization that had an outsized impact in 2018, and that will do the same this year. How? By helping Democrats to hold the House, flip the Senate, and increase voter turnout, especially in battleground states. (You’ll find a lot more information in the attached pamphlet.)
This year, Force Multiplier is supporting 12 House and 5 Senate candidates in traditionally Red districts and states – individuals whose ideas, values, character, and devotion to a better future for our country are truly inspiring.
Lauren Underwood, for example, flipped a staunchly Republican district in the western suburbs of Chicago in 2018. She has a nursing degree and broad public health experience, and she’s the youngest Black woman ever elected to Congress. A few weeks ago, Force Multiplier held a Zoom event that raised almost $20,000 for her 2020 campaign, mostly in small contributions. Over the course of an hour, Congressperson Underwood offered a thoughtful critique of the Trump administration’s handling of the pandemic, spoke compellingly about her constituents and what they need and deserve from our government, and answered questions from participants. More recently, Force Multiplier hosted an event with Montana Governor Steve Bullock, who is running for Senate against a pro-Trump incumbent in a very Red state.
We all know that, when the Republicans in Congress aren’t busy obstructing progress and accountability, they’re enabling a president who is a clear and present danger to our democracy. No matter what Trump says, or does, or claims he’s doing; no matter how divisive, corrupt and incompetent he is, Republicans in Congress inevitably fall into line, with Mitch McConnell calling the shots.
