- The Commonwealth has allowed anyone voting in a municipal election to request an early vote ballot. Early vote – Mail in Ballots can be requested NOW up until Noon on June 15, but since you have to allow time for them to be mailed to you and they must be returned by election day, it is good to request them asap.
To request an early vote ballot. Download this Early Ballot Application and mail to:Town Clerk, Abbot Hall, 188 Washington St., Marblehead, MA 01945.https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/elepdf/2020-Municipal-Early-Ballot-Application.pdf
2. Anyone concerned about taking precautions related to COVID 19, may request an absentee ballot from the Town Clerk or download this form and mail it to: Town Clerk, Abbot Hall, 188 Washington St., Marblehead, MA 01945.
So what is the difference then between early vote and absentee vote? Early Vote is FINAL, Absentee – you are allowed to change your mind up until election day, as long as your absentee vote did not go through the tabulator.
